(LAST CHANCE) TONIGHT! STOP STAR VILLAGE! Donna Liggins Center, 6PM

Join TCFC and neighborhood leaders from the area affected to tell them:

"STOP STAR VILLAGE and work with us on REAL SOLUTIONS!"

 YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD IS NEXT!

Join us TONIGHT @ 6pm

2160 N 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705

CURRENT/PAST CITY FAILURES DOING THE SAME THING:

1.  The City is displacing the homeless by closing multiple parks with fencing including Santa Rita Park and Armory Park and now placing those same homeless in tent camps in our neighborhoods!

2.  Navajo Wash (2025) - City found liable for creating Nuisance and breaking Law allowing camping

3. City Camp BRAVO - drugs and prostitution finally closed

4.  Estevan Park

5.  100 Acres (2025) - Misery Continues Now

STAR VILLAGE is more of the same FAILED PLAYBOOK.  Experimenting with people's lives!  HUMANS DESERVE MORE THAN TENTS and DRUG DEALERS RUNNING THE ENCAMPENTS, forcing vulnerable women into very bad situations while Mayor and Council members look away in indifference. A police force operating at 1989 staffing levels is not capable of policing the crime and disorder caused by the city’s ill-conceived plans.

Come by the TCFC table before you go into the Donna Liggins Center at 6pm. Make your voice heard by attending this meeting! Your participation is critically important in stopping Star Village and we NEED YOU!

Haha. Let’s see a doctor’s excuse. And while we’re at it, shouldn’t we be drug testing these people? Any job that requires a clear mind, one in which a mistake you make can result in injuries to others, requires it?

News reported that Mayor Romero wanted to attend but was “sick” Tired excuse and used too often by many of our female elected leaders. Especially its clear they don’t want to go because subject is “hot”. Regina Romero, Jennifer Allen and Lane Santa Cruz have done this just the last few months. Maybe they are just too fragile to serve.

The only answer is Personal Financial Responsibility for their decisions.
What can be more important than, at 96,000 a year, you attend a 1 hr meeting?
Maybe you have a really good reason for not attending?
Maybe you are afraid to go to the neighborhood at night?
Maybe you’d rather sit back and drink and beer and laugh at your constituents?
    Well?

What solid alternative can be provided? Hard to fight back when Tucson leadership wont listen.

Guys. PLease let’s watch our language. “STAR” village? Really? Is it going to be village? When I hear village, I think about a nice little community nestled in the mountains where everyone feeds deer, fishes, and cuts firewood. Is this going to be a village? Please, let’s not use THEIR language for this.
“STAR”- well how beautiful are stars? Can anyone object to a STAR? Heck, it sits atop your Christmas tree, doesn’t it?
Let’s call this what it is? It’s a REFUGEE camp, what used to be called a DP camp (Displaced person). After the war, poor people whose homes were obliterated had nowhere else to go. They were places where all kinds of diseases were fostered, all kinds of trouble existed, and people couldn’t wait to get out of them.
Language is important. How much marketing, how much money was spent on this campaign to get us to call this a STAR-VIllage?
And while we’re at it-100 Wood-isn’t that where Winnie the Pooh lived? Who named this place 100 Wood? and Why? another example of marketing and language usage? Who could ever object to 100 acre Wood where Winnie and tigger and eyor live? Let’s call it what it is: 100 acres of waste land. Please do not associate Winnie Tigger and Eyor with this place. I read this to my kids when they were little.
We need personal accountability for Public Officials engaging in acts that endanger our public safety.
