Thank you, Tom.
And, speaking of empty storefronts, has anyone else taken a walk along 4th Avenue lately? Lots of empties down that way.
And I also agree with your point about the big money. Where is it coming from? And who is benefiting?
Tom, you are precisely correct. It needs to stopped now and fast. It ands the other plans the City is a cancer eating away Tucson from the inside out. These liberal socialist plans need to be stopped and right quick.
All of these so called “encampments”, city sponsored or not, are illegal. The city is taking criminal activity and facilitating it. Just another example of welfare and section 8 housing?
What women get in? Citizens or illegals? Drug abusers? Drug tests? Consent searches?
What happens when one woman injures or kills another? Is the city(we,us) liable? Who pays? Not dahl, romero and santa cruz(which is why we need legislation to make them personally liable for their actions).
Do they voluntarily apply or are they forced there? What are the qualifications? What are the rules they have to live by? (As noted, there are beds available nightly in Tucson which require only adherence to some minimal rule structure-will the city forget rules in order to obtain occupancy?) Who is going to make sure it is “safe” there? Is security an extra expense? Bathrooms, rec. facilities, gyms, showers, what is going to be provided there? Who will prevent non residents from moving in?
Will “boyfriends” of battered women have access to these ladies? Will they know where they are and can be located?? Who will monitor visitors? Will they be living in tents or new apartments or new modular housing? Fenced area, concertina wire? Etc. This is going to create more problems then the neighborhood needs. If you want to put them in a safe place, it is out in the desert, not in the middle of town. Dahl, the anti police santa cruz and romero have no clue.
Just women or children also? Age? Are they required to pay rent? Are they required to work? One mistake after another.
This will result in the continued abuse of these women. It will facilitate their continued abuse.
Instead of the city facilitating the behavior of these women, the city should be discouraging it. If you don’t discourage it, you facilitate it. Does the city want this to end or does the city want this to continue?
As you see, there is big money involved in this? Who are the parties that are really going to benefit? These poor women are PAWNS.
Is this just a DISTRACTION to take our eyes off the terrible in-filling and overbuilding that is planned for the inner city areas? Or some other plan in the works? Because looking at this idea, it has all the earmarks of a losing proposition. It is a loser for the city. Heck, last time I drove Broadway, Country Club east, I can swear there is probably about 60% vacancy. There are empty store fronts all over.
So stop them here, but keep your eyes on everything going on here.
