"Anybody BUT ROMERO for Mayor!"
TCFC is non-partisan BUT supports CHANGE. New Tucson leadership is needed specifically in the office of the Mayor. However we have a problem in the upcoming election with Ed Ackerley (Independent), Janet Wittenbraker (Republican) and Arthur Kerschen (Libertarian) all challenging incumbent Regina Romero (Democrat). By having three challengers, Romero is almost guaranteed a victory. We have tremendous respect for all candidates, they have all sacrificed time, effort and money to take on the difficult role of being candidates, however, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE. We are calling on Mr. Ackerley, Ms. Wittenbraker and Mr. Kerschen to set differences aside and come up with a solution where two candidates exit the race and support the remaining candidate. Tucson cannot afford FOUR more years of Regina Romero's failed policies. Any candidate that makes the selfless decision to put the betterment of our City over themselves will only be regarded as a hero. Time is running out, a decision needs to be made by FRIDAY, AUGUST 25th due to the deadline of final ballots being printed.

It was so hot that we could not operate our cell phones for more than 10 minutes before overheating. You will also see dogs kept in inhumane conditions. If no one seems to care about people, what about the dogs? Where is Pima Animal Control? Where is PETA? Where is the Humane Society? One lady had 4 puppies. Two dogs hid under an abandoned vehicle for shade.
Even though a majority of them are doing illegal drugs on a daily basis and are in possession of many items that have been stolen from businesses and neighborhoods, there will not be any consequences for criminality. Sheriff Nanos will not allow Tucson Police or Deputies to bring anyone to jail if they have had fentanyl within the last two hours or if they have had Narcan within the past six hours- these people know that, so all they need to do is tell the police they have fentanyl in their system. They are then brought to a hospital but because of the shortage of officers they are dropped off at the doors and able to just walk away and start the process all over again. Our so-called leaders do not want the problem in the jail so they are releasing the people that are committing crimes and letting all of us deal with it! This is not ok!
This is inhumane for the people living in these conditions and inhumane for the citizens that are forced to deal with this. The Mayor and Council need to step up and do their jobs. They are supposed to be keeping citizens safe and this is not happening! They are throwing so much money into this problem without doing any problem solving - just letting it continue to move around the city! There are solutions that will help this problem but Mayor Romero and current Council members refuse to do any of this. Start by enforcing our laws!

Your winning platform: 1)Take these people and put them in a tent city out in the desert. dry them out. Make them pick up the trash on Los Reales or Ajo. Give them plenty of water and then a meal, if they work.
2) require officers to arrest every drug arrest and charge it as a felony. No probation. Waste of time and money. Either jail or go back on street. Force County Attorney to do her job, or mis, mal, feasance charges.
AS Gospel Rescue Mission says, we do not have a homeless problem, we have a drug problem.
Clearly this is part of a larger plan to destroy the city, make in uninhabitable by all except those who rely on government for sustenance who will then do whatever they are told.
Years ago while living in another state I read an extensive article about homeless people who traveled from city to city to follow the good weather. When asked why they stopped at certain cities and stayed the answer was that the city had plenty of services just for them. They had no desire for housing or jobs, just food and money. The town I lived in gave both generously and subsequently we had plenty of homeless individuals and encampments. Tucson has plenty of drug rehab services and police who will not bother you when using drugs and plenty of encampments. Word gets around fast.
Regarding the statement that one candidate is needed to challenge Regina Romero and prevent her re-election: is it in the realm of possibilities that the three challengers – Republican, Independent and Libertarian – could agree to one of them as the challenger with the other two rewarded positions in a new City administration when victorious?
Would the voters go for something like that?
I think so, if the three candidates messaged from a place of strong unity – egos set aside – to save Tucson from the communist takeover?
I like all three candidates! Their ideas formulated into one administration would be powerful!
Then on top of that Tucson has at least 11 methadone clinics and hundreds of rehab and fly-by-night sober homes. And they all advertise nationally online for addicts to come to Tucson from other states for drug rehab. After a failed recovery (relapse is the norm) they add more and more new numbers to our homeless and fentanyl encampments. So Arizona rehab businesses advertise for addicts to come here….we provide plenty of rehab services and then no one knows what to do about the growing encampments and overdoses. It’s all connected. This town has changed so much and much of it preventable. Along with California and Florida we are the drug rehab destination state. And they stay. Is this really what our politicians envisioned for our city and state?
This is really disgusting. Just the trash alone is enough to make one sick. I saw this encampment recently on the way to the airport. At that time, only the sections of the encampment that were close to Golf Links were visible. I had no idea of the extent of this encampment. Friends who have visited us have commented on the homeless situation which is so disappointing. There is another encampment at Alvernon and Ft. Lowell. It’s south of Ft. Lowell on the east side of Alvernon. The people are living above the wash rather than in it although there is trash both above and below the wash. Can animal control be called in to rescue these poor dogs or have they been told to stay away just as the police have been told to stay away? Thank you TCFC for all that you have done so far. Continue to get the message out on the airways so more people will join.
