📢 Urge the City of Tucson to prioritize:

              🚓 Public Safety:

Hire More Personnel: Increase the number of police officers, dispatchers, and firefighters to ensure timely responses to emergencies.

Competitive Compensation: Offer salaries and benefits that attract and retain top talent in our police and fire departments.

Equipment Upgrades: Invest in modern equipment and technology to enhance efficiency and safety.

📊 The Numbers Dont Lie: Public Safety is Being Ignored

While Tucson pours millions into wasteful programs like fare-free transit, the Tucson Police Department is being systematically shortchanged. Just look at the Citys own numbers:

Fiscal Year

Requested by TPD

Approved

Unfunded Needs

FY23

$20,519,910

$7,128,700

$13,391,210

FY24

$29,658,010

$14,716,010

$14,942,000

FY25

$58,545,227

$17,386,830

$41,158,397

🔴 Over $41 million in unmet needs this year alone.
🔴 Thats funding that should go to hiring officers, modernizing equipment, and ensuring faster response times.

📢 Meanwhile, the City Council is still debating how to fund free bus fares. This is a question of priorities — and right now, theyre choosing poorly.

The current shortfalls in public safety have occurred under Mayor Romero and the City Councils watch. It's imperative we hold them accountable and demand immediate action.

This Is the Moment to Act — or Be Silenced

Tucson is at a crossroads. City leaders are choosing to underfund public safety, ignore our crumbling roads, and waste millions on failed programs like fare-free transit — all while pushing for higher taxes and ignoring the voices of hardworking residents.

If you dont speak up now, dont expect anything to change.

📢 If you dont show up, theyll assume you dont care.
📢 If you dont send that email, theyll say no ones complaining.
📢 If you dont demand accountability, theyll keep making excuses.

This is YOUR city. YOUR money. YOUR safety.

👉 Take the survey.
👉 Join the town hall.
👉 Email the mayor and council.

💥 Do it now — because silence is surrender. And Tucson cant afford any more silence.

Public safety: increase police and fire personnel and technology
Road maintenance; Improve roads by contracting not necessarily with the lowest bidder, but with the contractor that can perform. the best quality, most efficient job at the most cost efficient price, so that taxpayers are not continually paying for substandard roadwork.
Appearance of city. So much of the city looks trashy and unkempt. This is a deterrent for attracting new businesses and tourism. This town is not “charming”. It has deteriorated into an unwelcoming sight for sore eyes.
Plan projects: Plan the details on projects before they are implemented so that projects do not have to be torn up and redone due to mismanagement and lack of foresight. Thus saving manpower and unnecessary misuse of taxpayers dollars through repeated reconstruction of projects.

You can click at the bottom where it says if you do not want this to go only to the city council click “here”. That does not ask for personal info.

Yeah, that survey is a trick-kiss.
Just went through it and followed the rules with character counts. Though I didn’t use them all, I was red-flagged and had to reduce it more. Twice – in two comment fields. Interesting and stupid.
The survey talks about what they want to talk about with no room or outlet for other important things.
And after all that and clicking submit, everything halts at a OpenGov page where you are required to provide an email address & a physical address. Just another way to attempt by government to hoover up my digital exhaust – no thank you.
Enough is enough. I quit the stupid thing without submitting anything.
