NEWS FLASH: KOLD Channel 13 Features Violence problem on the Free Crime Bus: Sun Tran
KOLD Channel 13 just confirmed what TCFC has been reporting for months, that Crime on the Free Crime Bus is out of control and no-one feels safe. The FREE Crime bus is one of many failed policies supported by Mayor Romero, Councilmembers Lane Santa Cruz, Kevin Dahl, Paul Cunningham, Steve Kozachick and Nikki Lee.
When we reported this months ago, Councilmembers and Mayor Romero mocked TCFC members, publicly, at their council-meeting and then voted to extend the free bus 6 more months. Now, finally the media is paying attention and confirms what we have been reporting. Read for yourself. Nothing has improved under this Mayor and Council, and is only getting worse as demonstrated by KOLD 13 and the bus drivers and passengers.

In 2022 Mayor and Council paid for a third-party survey and nearly 50% of riders were subsidized, WE SUPPORT THAT! BUT, the bus should not be free for all. Once again, we support subsidizing those that qualify. We do not support a free bus that is dangerous for drivers and passengers and moves crime and drugs throughout our community.
Mayor and Council are getting ready to spend our money they don't have, to support this unneeded service, permanently, in the next month or two.

We need to stop calling names and taking sides democrats and republicans and stop the neverending comparisons to “Trumpers”, which is just exhausting. Tucson needs to wake up, our city is going the wrong direction and no matter what side you are on, if we don’t take it back, we will have to resign ourselves to becoming San Francisco. Wake up and save Tucson, remove Regina Romero, Lane Santa Cruz and Matt Hines. They do not respect you and don’t care what you think or want. If their replacements continue down the same path, remove them too. This is our city, let’s take it back.
I’m not appreciating Al Johnson’s comment at all. According to him, In order to ride a bus in this town you need to be crazy, be concerned about Covid, and somehow people’s eating choices (vegan) are part of the insanity? This is starting to sounds an awful lot like Trump-loving BS. Hey Al, some people are immunocompromised and want to wear 2 masks. How is that bothering you? Do you not believe in Covid? Are all vegans democrats? Why? What does that have to do with anything?
To the authors of these newsletters, be careful. No one wants crime in their neighborhoods. That’s a message all political sides can embrace. But if you start saying that all democrats should be voted out of office, you’re going to empower the Trump lovers. Be careful this organization doesn’t turn into more divisive rhetoric. We need to band together to get people with mental health issues the help they need, to get addicts into treatment, and to stop all the petty crime that is plaguing neighborhoods and reducing property values. Tell people like Al Johnson to stop watching so much Fox News and to try vegan food. It’s delicious and it’ll save him from his inevitable future heart attack.

Lane Santa Cruz, City Council Ward 1 and Vice Mayor claims that illegal camps squatters, fentanyl dealers and other criminals have a right to use roads, therefore, there should continue to be free fare Sun Tran crime express bus service for them. Wrong. Many of them can be seen smoking fentanyl at Sun Tran bus shelters opioid dens, putting their bicycles on the bus bike rack when it stops for them, then boarding the bus free of charge. Free fare is not required for them to EXERCISE, in both senses of the word, their right to use the roads by riding their bicycles. Vote to end the Romero-Cunningham-Santa Cruz administration because they have been at the core of the Sun Tran crime problem for the longest time.
Reform with Few Results: Pima County can’t prove criminal justice reform is working.
Let me once again( if the citizens of Tucson Arizona hear something repeated long enough maybe they will finally Believe)( In Their Own capability) of addressing what is going on. If Larimer County Wyoming can address their situation of their attorney not Prosecuting over 400 criminal cases…. hello citizens of Tucson !do you hear me? if they can address their situation, the citizens of Tucson Arizona can also address what is going on here .The Sun Tran article on channel 13 was a whole lot of nothing. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying there isn’t a problem I’m saying as usual the mainstream media doesn’t ever tell you much . once in awhile they do, but they didn’t give anyone the information really about the bus situation . people would be better off reading the channel 13 article reform with few results. Pima County can’t prove Criminal Justice Reform is working. And there was a commenter on the Sun Tran bus article not on the 13 News Channel, but another news Outlet posted the 13 news article on the bus , and one person said last year her friend was assaulted on a bus. that a policeman trespassed the person. The victim wanted the perpetrator prosecuted or arrested and the policeman told her that they would be out before the paperwork was even halfway finished . Why? He said because “certain people in Tucson” believe criminals have more rights than victims.
the lack of criminal prosecution is one major issue! if you read the channel 13 article on the Pima County reforms not working, millions of grant money was wasted and plundered. there goal was to reduce prison population so they didnt have to build a new jail.
that is still their goal .when they had millions of dollars of Grant funding that could have been utilized to build a different facility. they believe criminals have more rights than victims and that’s evident by the fact they are not prosecuting and that’s not on the police. the police department does not prosecute. The attorneys are not fulfilling the duties they agreed to uphold.
