MESSAGE FROM TCFC Steering Leaders

Regardless of the rhetoric you read in the media...(lots of articles about failures in Portland and California even with billions dedicated to providing free housing to addicts without addressing their addiction), until we hold people accountable for the crimes they commit and provide resources to break addicts out of the cycle of addiction we are not addressing the real source of the problem. Drug addicts are stealing from stores, non-stop, causing prices to increase and making retail employees fearful to come to work, destroying our local businesses, destroying our properties, making public transportation unsafe and making  all of us and our children feel unsafe.  Recently, we read a sign that said "We here in Tucson don't care how you did it in <name your city>".  We in Pima County have the ability to decide whether we are going to elect officials that enforce our laws or continue to invite mayhem and destruction. Current policies are failing and the proof is the constant increased open air drug use  and crime on the street.  It does not matter what electeds say, the proof is in front of you, on the street.  We share the pictures that we can take any day on Tucson Streets.  The death and destruction supported by our current elected officials policies is not humane.

"At a minimum 80% of individuals living on the street suffer from substance abuse and 60% suffer from mental illness. Many of our non profits that provide shelter, detox and support are operating at less than 50% occupancy." (Source TPCH).

We used to have a law to prevent people from living on our streets and public places. It was removed from the city laws by a public initiative back in the mid-90s. The backers of that initiative said it was outdated and unnecessarily harsh towards the poor and mentally impaired. Now we are reaping the consequences of that decision.

We need to establish a no living on the streets law, no giving directly to he homeless, not accepting any more people from the boarder ( seriously in 1 year 100,000 people to tucson alone ENOUGH😱😡,stop the influx from the boarder of immigrants and stop other cities from bringing people from other countries and states as well, and make all peoples accountable not just the homeless.,city county, council, district reps, mayor,Gov,senator, churches, charity’s,businesses, neighbors, apts, homeowners, renters, parks dept, electric lines, communication lines, fiber optic’s etc today stop waiting for tomorrow

This comment: "until we hold people accountable for the crimes they commit and provide resources to break addicts out of the cycle of addiction we are not addressing the real source of the problem. Drug addicts are stealing from stores, non-stop, causing prices to increase and making retail employees fearful to come to work, destroying our local businesses, destroying our properties, making public transportation unsafe and making all of us and our children feel unsafe. " – where is the data to support these outrageous claims? what do you mean by ‘hold them accountable’ if you don’t mean throw everyone in jail? How will you ‘provide resources to break drug addicts out of their cycles of addiction’ when this group consistently supports right-wing-nut-job measures that bash rent control, raising the minimimum wage, and healthcare for all? Is there a test for cognitive dissonance to be part of Tucson Crime Free?

Is it true if your residence is in the county, even though you pay several thousand dollars in property taxes in the city, you cannot vote in this elections?
I know there was a time when this was going to be looked at, but never heard the outcome.
    Thanks for an answer!

Let me remind you! If larimer county wyoming can address their failed leaders situations. The citizens of tucson arizona can address their situations! Together we can change what is currently happening! Together we can elect individuals that want to increase police, clean up our filthy city streets, support our businesses in the community, address the open drug use, address the rampant crime, enforce our laws! Larimer county fired their attorney for failure to prosecute over 400 crimminal offenses . the Person lost their law license. For failing to uphold the oath of office they were entrusted with. The citizens of tucson hold a bright and golden future in their hands!!! If together we change this situation. Get involved. Get informed. Research. Support the individuals that you know will create and innovate a beautiful tomorrow. Vote! Go vote august 1st . Get busy citizens a wonderful tucson is just around the corner!! Together we can be the change we want to see . Im still saying powerful prayers.
