"Anybody BUT ROMERO for Mayor!"

TCFC is non-partisan BUT supports CHANGE. New Tucson leadership is needed specifically in the office of the Mayor. However we have a problem in the upcoming election with Ed Ackerley (Independent), Janet Wittenbraker (Republican) and Arthur Kerschen (Libertarian) all challenging incumbent Regina Romero (Democrat). By having three challengers, Romero is almost guaranteed a victory. We have tremendous respect for all candidates, they have all sacrificed time, effort and money to take on the difficult role of being candidates, however, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE. We are calling on Mr. Ackerley, Ms. Wittenbraker and Mr. Kerschen to set differences aside and come up with a solution where two candidates exit the race and support the remaining candidate. Tucson cannot afford FOUR more years of Regina Romero's failed policies. Any candidate that makes the selfless decision to put the betterment of our City over themselves will only be regarded as a hero. Time is running out, a decision needs to be made by FRIDAY, AUGUST 25th due to the deadline of final ballots being printed.

This time it's NOT ABOUT PERSON or PARTY!, ITS ABOUT TUCSON's Survival!

Here are the demographics of the City Of Tucson registered voters:

This is Mr. Ackerley’s second run for mayor as an Independent. In his previous run he received 39% of the vote compared to Romero’s 56% of the vote.  View his campaign website and contact information here:

This is Ms. Wittenbraker's first run for office. As a Republican candidate, she enjoys the advantage of having 900 Republican Precinct Committeeman behind her to aid in canvasing and door knocking. View her campaign website and contact information here:

Arthur Kerschen - Running as a Libertarian

Read the Tim Steller Article content strongly infers that, ROMERO WILL WIN IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE OPPOSITION CANDIDATE!  We NEED one candidate to challenge Romero for Mayor.

"It was always going to be a hard challenge for anyone to beat Tucson Mayor Regina Romero as she runs for re-election this year.

But with two opposing candidates, is it even possible? Wouldn’t just one opposition candidate bring a seemingly impossible task into the realm of the barely possible?

When you look back at 2019, it makes you wonder."

100 Acres Park; Mayor Romero supported, latest sanctioned Drugs, Crime and Humanitarian Disaster

Last week TCFC steering leaders went into the 100 Acres encampment located at Swan and Golf Links. TPD officers have been given a directive from Mayor Romero and the City Council not to enter the encampment and to leave it alone. Imagine if you lived in a neighborhood where law enforcement had no presence. That is essentially what is occurring in this fentanyl encampment. City of Tucson Leadership: Be humane and clear this sanctioned fentanyl encampment and return the park to the citizens of Tucson! Attached are pictures from the tour.

It was so hot that we could not operate our cell phones for more than 10 minutes before overheating.  You will also see dogs kept in inhumane conditions.  If no one seems to care about people, what about the dogs?  Where is Pima Animal Control?  Where is PETA?  Where is the Humane Society?  One lady had 4 puppies.  Two dogs hid under an abandoned vehicle for shade.

If and when the Mayor and Tucson Police Department give the go ahead to start "clearing" or "cleaning" up this fentanyl encampment, the people that are illegally living here will be directed to housing and support services, yet the norm is for these individuals to just move on to the next encampment. We have seen this trend here and nationally, many individuals that live on the streets are doing so by choice.

Even though a majority of them are doing illegal drugs on a daily basis and are in possession of many items that have been stolen from businesses and neighborhoods, there will not be any consequences for criminality. Sheriff Nanos will not allow Tucson Police or Deputies to bring anyone to jail if they have had fentanyl within the last two hours or if they have had Narcan within the past six hours- these people know that, so all they need to do is tell the police they have fentanyl in their system. They are then brought to a hospital but because of the shortage of officers they are dropped off at the doors and able to just walk away and start the process all over again.  Our so-called leaders do not want the problem in the jail so they are releasing the people that are committing crimes and letting all of us deal with it! This is not ok!

This is inhumane for the people living in these conditions and inhumane for the citizens that are forced to deal with this. The Mayor and Council need to step up and do their jobs. They are supposed to be keeping citizens safe and this is not happening! They are throwing so much money into this problem without doing any problem solving - just letting it continue to move around the city!  There are solutions that will help this problem but Mayor Romero and current Council members refuse to do any of this. Start by enforcing our laws!

The 100 Acre Park situation is really unsettling. The area had just been repurposed as a wonderful bike park. One that was unique and fun. Now it is totally unsafe and unsuitable for anyone. This has to change.

Challenge is there is ego and those who are really willing to do something about it. I don’t really know the libertarian. They don’t have a website or much of a presence on the internet. And the Republicans do have an army and I do know JL gave up her job to run she felt so strongly.

Nate: When Gulliani was running NYC, he had a zero tolerance policy, correct? And that cleaned up NYC, made it about as great a place as it has ever been. SO where is TPD now? We don’t care what the city and county attorney say and do, you need to get out there and make those arrests. Point out to the citizens where the problem is.That guy at Ft. Lowell & Country Club has been screwing with traffic for a year already. Zero tolerance, TPD.
“We don’t have a homeless problem, we have a drug problem” says a spokesperson for Gospel Rescue Mission. In other words, anyone who wants shelter can find it. But you need to give up your drugs. Waylon Jennings was “addicted” to meth, wasn’t he? He used to admit that he wasn’t addicted, he liked to use the drug.
Tent city please. All this rehab, housing, etc has been tried for decades, wasted our money, and we’re worse off now.
We have all been brainwashed and played. If you want to stop the drug trade, you can do it. We have been convinced that living with crime is normal, that it can never change. We have become used to being afraid.
Think people. This is really just a big psy op.
Tent city, dry them out, feed them good food, discipline them and that will get them back on the right track.
Those pictures are just disgusting. But for the expense of some of the trash that has accumulated there, no doubt it is a third world country.
Pictures of the bombed cities after WW2 don’t look this bad. People were really hungry, shelterless then. This is just the result of a bunch of politicians playing with the lives of these people, using them to acquire more fed money too disburse to all these rehab people, psych people. etc.

Thank you Tucson Crime Free for all of this information. I have started to notice all of the problems in this city just by paying attention to the bus stops and driving around on our streets. This city has been left to a mayor and council who have become overwelmed by their own failed policies unless they are truly doing this on purpose? PLEASE Ms. Whittenbraker, Mr. Ackerly and Mr. Kerschen, come together and support each other and come up with one person to lead this nightmare. We respect all of you for wanting to do this job and stepping up to the plate. Tucson needs hope and by two of you stepping up to support the one still in the race – you would give us hope and you would gain so much respect! This ask of you is so unusual and usually would not even be considered I am sure but what has happened to our city in such a short time calls for extreme measures. The scariest thought right now is 4 more years of Regina Romero! She and her regime have ruined so many lives by supporting illegal activity and not getting them proper treatment or mental health help that so many of them need. So many businesses being forced to close because they can not survive the never ending crime and shoplifting that is happening, the property values that are taking a huge plunge. This is a bigger problem that we will have to deal with next year with Laura Conover and Sheriff Nano’s. but Mayor Romero supports all of these failed policies 100%. Eventually the federal funding will stop and make this a much bigger problem for Tucson.

As the President of one of the Tucson Police Department unions it’s frustrating we are having this problem in the Mayor’s race. I have met with both Janet and Ed, they have similar platforms that address most the concerns from the citizens and line level Officers. Either one of them would be great if they did what they are campaigning on. Thanks TCFC for stating the obvious and hopefully a positive resolution occurs. Otherwise it’s four more years of the criminal enabling Romero regime and Tucson’s problems will continue to worsen.
